COLLEGE MARKETING TEAM TRIUMPHS IN INDUSTRY AWARDS

City of Wolverhampton College swept the board at an industry awards ceremony last night, with its marketing department scooping four awards including being named as team of the year.

The team picked up the accolades at the College Marketing Network’s annual FE First Awards, achieving gold in the Marketing Team of the Year category and receiving three silver awards for its PR campaign, communications campaign, and digital and social media campaign entries.
The team of five, headed up by marketing manager Emma Evans, is responsible for promoting the college through a wide range of activities, including advertising on buses, trams and billboards, engaging with current and potential students through social platforms such Facebook and Twitter, publicising student achievements, organising open days and keeping the website and course materials up-to-date.

Emma said: “I am absolutely thrilled that we have won these awards and that the hardwork, dedication and enthusiasm of the team has been recognised in this way. All members of the team have their own individual skills which, when combined, make us a really strong and creative department.

“The college has undergone a huge transformation over the last two years and, as a result, the team have worked tirelessly to promote the turnaround and the excellent opportunities that are available to everyone who studies here.  The numbers of students enrolled for the current year, and the high numbers attending our open events and already applying for next September, demonstrate that what we’re doing is working – and to be named Marketing Team of the Year is the icing on the cake!”

The team were presented with their awards at a ceremony at the Hilton Hotel, Leicester, yesterday evening.
