Sandwell College students have been crowned among the UK’s very best trainee hairdressers and nail artists, after winning in this year’s Britain’s Best competition.

Britain’s Best, run by the National Hairdressers’ Federation, is one of the highlights of the NHF’s calendar, attracting talent from across the country.

With a record number of entries across the 14 categories, this year’s Britain’s Best was particularly hard-fought, making the West Bromwich college’s win even more impressive.

Emilijana Veseli beat off tough competition to win in the Hair Up – Glamorous Night on the Town (Students and Trainees) category, with Muzghan Rahimi finishing third.

Nadia Shayler won the Nail Art category with Anastasia Krjuckova in second place.

NHF president Paul Curry said: “My congratulations go out to all this year’s winners. Everyone – winner or runner-up – was competing at the highest level, producing work of intense creativity and talent.

“For Sandwell College to win in its categories was an amazing performance and they should be very proud of what they achieved.

“I am immensely proud of what Britain’s Best says about the level of skill within our great industry – the passion and commitment shown by everyone to push themselves and be the very best they can.”

The competition was held at the Heritage Motor Centre in Gaydon, Warwickshire.

Britain’s Best, now in its fourth year, includes a range of categories, such as female fashion, short back and sides with beard trim and beauty-based categories, such as bridal make-up and fantasy total look.
