Gordon Banks Sports Centre & Slimming World launch wedding competition

The Gordon Banks Sports Centre, located in the grounds of Newcastle-under-Lyme College (NULC) is launching a competition for brides and grooms-to-be, in conjunction with Slimming World.

The competition is aimed at those wanting to lose weight, tone up and boost their confidence ahead of their special day. The lucky winner will receive a free twelve week Slimming World membership for the Saturday Morning group held in the Gordon Banks Sports Centre, along with a twelve week gym membership provided by The Gordon Banks Sports Centre, 10% off flowers from W Lewis Penkhull Nurseries, 10% off at J&J Designs bridal shop and an exclusive pamper package supplied by NULC’s Transform Salon and Spa.

Slimming World sessions run every Saturday morning from 8.30am & 10.30am at The Gordon Banks Sports Centre where the friendly and supportive group helps members to discover how they can eat and enjoy food whilst working towards their ultimate health goal.

Louise Ziemann, Sports Centre Manager, said: “We are delighted to be working with local businesses to launch this exciting competition with an exclusive prize package worth over £200. The Gordon Banks Sports Centre team have a proven track record in helping clients to set fitness targets and motivating them to reach their goals. We want to hear from local brides and grooms-to-be who are on a countdown to their big day and are in need of extra motivation or support.”

Clare Gould-Smith, Slimming World Consultant at The Gordon Banks Sports Centre said: “I am really excited about the competition and welcoming the winner to our fabulous Saturday group where we will help and support them every step of the way”.

The competition, which is open to members and non-members, starts on Tuesday 26th January and closes on Valentine’s Day, Sunday 14th February. Entries can be submitted online via http://www.nulc.ac.uk/sportscentre or at the Sports Centre reception on Knutton Lane.

The Gordon Banks Sports Centre is home to a 25-station gym, air-conditioned dance studio, sports hall and outdoor pitches.  The dance studio offers a range of fitness classes including Zumba, Circuit Training and Pilates. Facilities are also available to hire and are currently used by various local clubs including a number of 7-a-side football leagues.
