West End Dance Show Kicks off at Molineux!

Wolverhampton match goers were treated this weekend when they get a sneak preview of a West End dance show.

Talented students from City of Wolverhampton College entertained fans at the Wolves Vs Preston match at Molineux Stadium with an exciting hip hop performance.

A total of 20 students took part in the five minute piece, which had been put together to promote Into the Hoods: Remixed, which takes place at Wolverhampton Grand Theatre from February 25 to 27. The students worked with hip hop professionals to put together the act, which was part of the ZooResidence Outreach Project.

Their piece, based around the fairy tale the Fox and the Goose, was selected out of 12 acts that were performed at the ZooResidence Showcase: Nursery Rhymez Remixed, at Wolverhampton Grand Theatre last month. Schools and colleges from across the Midlands took part in the showcase, with the aim of winning a spot in Into the Hoods.

Lecturer Ruth Gavin said: “I’m delighted that our students were selected to perform at the Molineux and it was a great recognition of all the hard work they had put in over the last few months. To go out in front of thousands of football fans was an unforgettable experience and one they will be able to draw on in their future careers.”

Two of the students have been selected to appear in Into the Hoods. Brandon Howard, age 18, and Kelsie Ward, 16, will be taking part in curtain raiser performances for the award winning show.
