HoW College Higher Education does the job for graduate Clair Allen!

The only way is up for Heart of Worcestershire College (HoW College) student, Clair Allen, as she climbs the corporate ladder at Halfords after graduating with a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business Management.

After making the decision to return to education Clair has been balancing her studies around a busy family life and work.  Her determination and hard-work has paid off achieving distinctions across the board in her modules.

Studying on the fast-track Business Management course has allowed Clair to complete her studies, part-time, in just two years. The HND itself is a work-related qualification that provides learners with the integral knowledge and understanding of business and management that relates to their own organisation as well as the wider economy.

Proving that the sky really is the limit Clair has been promoted to Strategic Delivery Manager at Halfords since graduating.

Commenting on her experience at HoW College, Clair said:

“My learning experience with Heart of Worcestershire College has had an amazing impact on my career and me personally. Never did I believe when I signed up that I would learn so much and progress so far, being promoted twice since I started within my job at Halfords! Whilst it was hard work juggling the workload alongside a busy job and family, the support from both Halfords and the tutors at the college helped me greatly.”

Katrina Jamieson, Business Transformation Director for Halfords, added:

“Clair’s HND Business Management qualification was a key differentiator for her vs other candidates as she has studied the theory of project delivery and most importantly evaluation of performance – this coupled with her nine years in the Halfords business made her the ideal candidate to bring a blend of best practice and pragmatism to the role.”

Heart of Worcestershire College is proud to deliver high quality work-related qualifications that strive to give our learners the best step in their future careers.
