Stafford College is urging local residents to vote for its Riverbank Restaurant in a national ‘People’s Choice’ award.

The popular eatery is one of just 15 college restaurants across the country to be shortlisted for the award.

The hospitality team at Stafford College are asking local people to back the bid to be named the people’s choice award winners, by visiting the college’s Facebook page and following the link to vote in the people’s choice award.

The Riverbank Restaurant already enjoys a 4.5 star rating on TripAdvisor and boasts more than 40 highly complementary reviews.

Seating 40 people, the restaurant is open for lunch from 12pm Tuesday to Friday, as well as hosting a fine dining evening for local residents to book on Tuesday evenings.

The restaurant has also hosted Staffordshire Young Chef of the Year for the previous three competitions and has hosted a range of guest chef nights alongside local businesses.

Jenna Beech, restaurant manager for the Riverbank, comments: “We’re already extremely proud to be one of just fifteen colleges in the UK to hold an AA rosette award – and now to be shortlisted for a people’s choice award is just fantastic.

She adds: “At Stafford College, we ensure all our students have the opportunity to experience real work environments, developing their technical skills whilst learning what it is like to work in a demanding environment where service and quality are key.

“We’re delighted that local people really enjoy eating at the Riverbank Restaurant, and even more pleased that our commitment to ensuring our students develop the highest possible working standards has also been recognised.

“It would be wonderful if local people can now also get behind us and vote for us to win the People’s Choice award.

“Simply visit, search for the Riverbank Restaurant and follow the link to vote for us. You can also view our October menu and book a table to sample our amazing food.”

Voting closes on 31 October – visit or the college’s Facebook page at and follow the link to cast your vote.
