Shrewsbury College Young Enterprise students joined by Caterpillar

Business students at Shrewsbury College have been joined by staff from Caterpillar, Shrewsbury to re-launch the Young Enterprise business projects.

Young Enterprise is a national business enterprise initiative designed for all young people between the ages of 14 and 19. Students set up and run their own business over an academic year, selling shares and aiming to make a profit, just like any other business.  The Young Enterprise programme has been re-introduced into the college curriculum after an absence of three years.

Trevor Lawrence, Senior Quality Engineer at Caterpillar acts as the Business Adviser to the group.  Trevor commented, “It is great to see Young Enterprise back at Shrewsbury College.  The College has a successful track record in the competition, having won the County Final in 2014. Young Enterprise offers a great opportunity for young people to apply skills gained in the classroom to real-life business situations.”
