NSC Animal Students Receive Unexpected Response

nsc-animal-students-receive-unexpected-responseSecond year Animal Management students from North Shropshire College (NSC) sent an optimistic letter to Sir David Attenborough recently requesting a lecture from the legendary nature documentary star. Many of the students have been following his recent documentary series, Planet Earth and were so inspired they wanted to meet him in person and learn from his incredible knowledge.

The students were realistic and felt the letter was a long shot given how busy he is but thought it was worth a try. Only a couple of weeks later, the students were pleasantly surprised to receive a handwritten letter from Sir David that read:

‘’Dear second year diploma group

Thank you for your invitation to visit you and speak, I regret to say however that making programmes keeps me so busy that I cannot accept such invitations.

Thank you nonetheless, best wishes

David Attenborough.’’

Lecturer Katie Ellis said, ‘The students were not expecting any reply at all so were all surprised with a hand written letter from him. Although he declined, a letter in itself has caused excitement here and it was really nice of him to take the time to reply.’
