Travel and Tourism Students Visit Shrewsbury Prison

Students on North Shropshire College’s (NSC’s) Travel and Tourism Level 3 BTEC course went to Shrewsbury Prison recently in order to find out more about the type of events that are held there. The trip included a guided tour of the prison, an insight into the events which were taking place and a talk with the owner of the Prison.

The students found out about a range of activities such as the lock-in events where groups of people have to solve puzzles in a set time frame in order to get out of the locked prison cell they are in and zombie walk events where live actors are involved in a scary tour of the prison. The students used this information to complete an assignment set by the course tutors.

Katie Williams, a second year Level 3 student commented, ‘It was a fantastic trip and wasn’t what we expected. We really enjoyed it and it was great that it counted towards an important part of our course’.

Applications are being taken now for Travel and Tourism courses starting in September 2017. To apply now, visit the website at or call the Admissions Team on 01691 688080.
