STUDENTS IN APPEAL FOR CHARITY FOOD DONATIONS

Students with learning disabilities who attend City of Wolverhampton College are appealing for donations of food and toiletries to help people affected by poverty and homelessness.

The group of 18 students, who are on a Futures programme, are collecting non-perishable foods such as tinned fruit and vegetables, packets of soup and jars of jam, as well as dried pasta, breakfast cereals and toiletries for The Good Shepherd Ministry based at Darlington Street Methodist Church.

The students have organised the collection as part of a community action unit of their course in which they are learning about the local community, the causes of homelessness, and how volunteering can benefit people in their area.

Donations can be dropped off at the college’s Wellington Road campus in Bilston between 10am and 2pm on Tuesday 21 March.
