South Staffordshire College Learners Team Up With Autosmart For Fundraiser Event

Students studying Motor Vehicle Level 1 at South Staffordshire College’s Tamworth Campus welcomed staff from Autosmart last week to provide professional car valeting training.

Also based in Tamworth, Autosmart volunteered their time and resources to provide guidance ahead of a fund raising car cleaning service to raise funds for Comic Relief.

The Autosmart team then worked alongside students on Friday 24th March 2017, from 10am until 3pm, giving students first hand work experience. Customers were given the choice of having their car washed and dried for £5,  or a full wash, dry and interior valet for £10. The event raised £163.00 for Comic Relief and the students got a lot of the training that was provided.

The car wash is one of many ways that students at the college make a contribution to charity. Over the last year students and staff came together to raise over £800 for Children in Need, as well as raising hundreds of pounds for other charities including the Midlands Air Ambulance, Cancer Research UK, Macmillan Cancer Support and many more.

Do you want a career in the motor vehicle or motorsport industry? Taught by industry professionals with a wealth of experience, the college’s motor vehicle courses equip learners with the knowledge and practical experience they need for a rewarding career.
