Congratulations to the incredible efforts of the College’s Visual and Performing Arts staff and students in preparing the annual Art Exhibition and Private View.

On Thursday, 21st June the Exhibition was opened to invited guests including those students who have just completed their studies with us and their families. We were delighted with the positive comments on the evening and from subsequent schools and visitors that have visited the Exhibition. One attendee congratulated the students and staff on the excellent display and said “there are some extremely talented individuals with exceptional creativity and flair.”

This is the College’s annual opportunity to celebrate our students’ hard work, creativity and achievement.  We run a very wide range of courses within the Art and Design department and examples of work from Fine Art, Graphics, Textiles and Photography A Level courses were represented. Last year our Art and Design students progressed on to degrees including Architecture, Contemporary Arts Practice, Fashion Contour, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Photography, Press & Editorial Photography, and Visual Communication.

The Exhibition was the culmination of another very successful year for the department following December’s highly acclaimed production of ‘Oh! What a Lovely War!’ and Spring Fest in the summer term. The next planned event will be Autumn Fest.

Jules Steed, Head of Visual and Performing Arts, said: “Once again the Worcester Sixth Form College Private View Art Exhibition proved to be an enormous success. The event was extremely well attended. Everyone enjoyed the drinks, canapés and student Chamber Quartet and the feedback from students and visitors was wholly positive. The Visual & Performing Arts department would like to thank all the students for their hard work and to wish them good luck for the future.”
