Heart of Worcestershire College have officially unveiled brand new facilities at Perdiswell Leisure Centre; marking the occasion with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

The unveiling comes after the College partnered with Freedom Leisure and Worcester City Council to provide investment in the refurbishment of the local leisure centre.

As part of the investment HoW College’s sport students will have access to state-of-the-art facilities including fitness studios, football pitches and bespoke teaching classrooms. Furthermore, the students will have the opportunity to undertake work placements within Freedom Leisure, giving them the best chance to develop their skills and become ready for employment in the sports and leisure industry.

Speaking about the collaboration and investment Principal and CEO of HoW College Stuart Laverick, said:

“Here at HoW College we are extremely proud of the relationships we have forged with local organisations, which present us with these opportunities to invest in state-of-the-art facilities to benefit our student’s studies.

This collaboration will allow the students to enhance their skills in a modern and bespoke learning environment as well as giving them the opportunity to develop their employability skills with Freedom Leisure.”

Lee Thomas, Freedom Leisure Area Manager for Worcester, added:

“We are delighted to welcome HoW College, students and faculty with open arms and look forward to working closely with them, in particular by providing the students with access to their chosen industry’s apprenticeship opportunities.”
